This antique Edwardian era embroidered cream wool baptism christening cape dress slip blanket set dates from 1915. It is made of an off white cream color light weight fine wool fabric with silk thread raised padded satin stitch hand embroidered flowers and drawn thread cutwork crochet lace scalloped edging. This beautiful baby baptismal christening four piece set includes a hooded cloak cape with a high low style longer back, scalloped edging, open front with adjustable silk ribbon drawstring neck, attached hood with gathering and is fully lined in a luxurious silk satin fabric inside. The cape measures 25 inches long with a 28 inch chest. There is a matching embroidered fabric dress with short sleeves, silk ribbon rosette trim, an open back with mother of pearl button closure at the neck and is unlined. The dress measures 22 inches long, with a 20 inch chest, 28 inch waist, 28 inch hips and 5 inch long sleeves. Included is a sleeveless slip dress, with an open back, mother of pearl button closure at the neck, is unlined and measures 22 inches long, with a 24 inch chest, 28 inch waist, 28 inch hips and 4 inch wide across arm hole openings. Lastly is a matching embroidered square blanket with scalloped crochet trim edging, an embroidered corner and measures 25 by 25 inches. The set is in good as-is condition, with several tiny moth holes scattered on all four pieces. This is truly a wonderful set of antique Victoriana whitework wearable art!
